How to get to Pokhara

Tourist Bus to go to Pokhara from Kathmandu and back to Kathmandu

In Nepal, there are only two international airports, and the most popular and oldest one is the Tribhuvan International Airport. The second one, and just the newly opened one, is in Bhairawa (Gautam Buddha International Airport) But most of the trekkers first fly to Kathmandu and then start their journey to Pokhara.

There are two different options to go to there: the first option is to go by air, and the second option is by land. You can choose any of these options to be in Pokhara. The distance between Kathmandu and Pokhara is just 210KM but the journey by land will take around 7/8 hours. So the easier option is to fly, and it will take around 30 minutes.

Every day, many flights go to Pokhara and different airline companies operate the flight, such as Buddha Air, Nepal Airlines, Shree Airlines, and Yeti Airlines. 

The flight fare is more than $100 per person, and the fare is different for Nepali passengers.

There are two types of land transportation available, the first one is the local transportation going from New Bus Park, and you can catch it from Kalanki too. And every day at 7 am, tourist buses leave from Kathmandu to Pokhara, and there are many bus companies you can choose from, depending on your wishes and budget.
