Gosainkunda Trek is a journey to the Holi Gosainkunda Lake at an elevation of 4300m above sea level. This is a short trek to have a real trekking experience of nature and culture in the Langtang National Park. Four nights five days journey to the Gosainkunda area to explore the beautiful lakes, mountain views, greenfield to the barren alpine land in just a few days.
This trek starts with a drive to Dhunche and then hike up to Sing Gumba, Lauribinayak, and then ultimately in the Gosainkunda Lake. As the myth near by Gosainkunda, there are 108 lakes among those 108 lakes; Gosainkunda, Bhairab Kunda, Surya Kunda, Saraswati Kunda, and Nagh Kunda are the popular ones. And among these four lakes, Gosainkunda is the most popular one.
Gosainkunda Lake is a famous pilgrimage site for both Hindu and Buddhist followers. And in the month of August/September, there will be a big fair and thousands of devotees travel to Gosainkunda. People have faith if they swim in this lake, all the negative spirits will go away. Obstacles in their life will go away and success in their life, work, and business. Required permits for Gosainkunda Trek
TIMS Card. This permit also needs to buy in the Nepal Tourism Board Kathmandu and that costs $20. Require permits for this trek.
Langtang National Park entree permit. The permit costs $30 and can buy in Nepal Tourism Board Kathmandu and in the National Park office in Dhunche.
When to trek?
Spring and Autumn are the best seasons to do this trek. However, because of the Janai Purnima festival and observing this festival need to travel in August as well.
