A journey on a local bus is always challenging, fun, and something to learn. Today’s my journey on the local bus was from Kathmandu to Banepa and back to Kathmandu. I travel to Banepa for arranging building materials for the house. That houses are building by the Foundation Helping Thulo Parsel in my village Thulo Parsel.
Normally I take a direct bus from Kathmandu to Banepa and this time I plan to take a bus which runs from Ringroad. There are some bus companies that run buses for whole ring road rounds such as Saja Yatayat and Mayur Yatayat. These two bus companies are the first ones to break the centigrade system in vehicle service.
As my plan to take a public bus from the ring road, after breakfast in the morning I went to Buddha park, Swyambhu. When I was there I found the Saja Yatayat bus and I got on the bus and my journey on the local bus started to Banepa. There were nearly 20 people traveling on that bus and added myself one more in that group.
The bus slowly moved to Banepa and as usual, I started to look around at what people are doing. All the people are on their own, some of them talking; some of them listening to music using headphones, and some of them playing mobile games. I take out a book from my bag and start to read because I love to read books while traveling on a Bus for a longer destination.
After around half hours drive, music on in Bus and people are starting to talk about that music between each other. Some of them say it’s good and others are saying not good. However, the music is going on and on in its own rhythm. The bus stopped in many places to get off and get in the passengers and finally around two and a half hours later I reached Banepa.
Things I did in Banepa before I start again a journey on a Local Bus to Kathmandu.
First I went to the furniture where I have to order beams for the houses. I already ordered that by phone sometime before and this time I am here to pay some advance. Paid some amount here and then I went to hardware for other things to order. In hardware, I ordered some iron poll and fence for the water tank. After doing my work in hardware my journey begins to lunch place. Eat special Dal Bhat in a Thakali Restaurant.
After finishing everything that I have to do in Banepa, my next task is to go back to Kathmandu. But I am a bit dilemma what should do? Make a journey to the local bus or take something else. I decided to take again a public bus but a different one so I took Mayur Bus to Kathmandu. The difference between Mayur and Saja Yatayat is not much. Both of them are almost the same size and they charge the same fare for Banepa to Kathmandu.
