Nowadays Nepali travelers also traveling most of the popular destinations in Nepal. Such as Annapurna Base Camp, Upper Mustang, Annapurna Circuit, Tilicho Lake, Langtang, and many more. Even travel enthusiasts are traveling to Everest Base Camp too. As a trekking guide and with my experience, I am going to break down Everest Base Camp Trek Cost for Nepali travelers. I found many travelers in the Himalayas without any proper plan for traveling like a budget and itinerary. Budget and itinerary are one of the very essential tools to have a successful trip to the Himalayas. 

Trekking to Everest Base Camp is a very tough but soulful experience to understand yourself and the power of nature. That is why if you are a travel lover Everest Base Camp Trek is the one you must do in your lifetime. This trek will take you through the Sherpa culture and tradition inside the Sagarmatha National Park. This National Park is one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Nepal. So you will not only pass through the Sherpa cultural world, you will get deep into the beautiful nature and creatures of nature. 

The spectacular vistas of the world’s highest peaks including Mt. Everest 8848.86m. Diversity in landscapes, flora, and fauna is another great deal that makes Everest Base Camp Trek super cool. Various factors determine the cost like transportation, accommodation, food, trekking gear, internet, drinks, entrance fee, donations, etc. Managing all the costs properly means you are going to have a great EBC trek. 

Transportation

Airport drop before the trek Rs: 500

Flight to Lukla before starting the walk Rs: 7500 and it’s very difficult to get a flight ticket during the peak season 

Flight to Kathmandu after the trek Rs: 7500

Airport to home by taxi after the trek Rs: 500 

There is a road to Solukhumbu and Jeeps are going there so even it’s the way of transportation to do the Everest Base Camp Trek 

Accommodation 

Lukla Hotel 500 to 1500 rupees 

Phakding Hotel 500 to 1500 rupees 

Namche Bazar Hotel 500 to 5000 rupees 

Tengboche Hotel 500 to 1000 rupees 

Dengbiche Hotel 500 to 1000 rupees 

Hotel in Lobuche 500 to 2500 rupees 

Hotel in Gorekshep 500 to 1000 rupees 

The normal Everest Base Camp Trek itinerary is 11 nights and 12 days so you can calculate your budget for the hotel as the itinerary. 

Food and drink during the trek 

Breakfast 500 to 700 rupees 

Lunch is 500 to 800 rupees 

Dinner is 600 to 1000 rupees 

A cup of hot tea or coffee will cost 100 to 250 rupees 

Again you can calculate as you customize your itinerary for the Everest Base Camp Trek and you can plan the cost of the trek. 

If you are hiring a guide it will cost a minimum of 2500 rupees in a day and for a porter, it charges almost the same amount 2000 to 2500 rupees in a day. So you can calculate according to your Everest Base Camp Trek Itinerary. 

In the Everest region, there is Everest Link Internet and it will cost 1000 rupees for 1 GB. However, in some places there are mobile data will work so you can use mobile data for the internet as well. 

After crossing the Namche Bazar, there is no hot shower in the hotel rooms so you have to pay extra 500 rupees for the shower. Because there is only a Gas Shower available and sometimes you have to be in line to do a shower. 

In Namche and Dingboche there are some good coffee shops and restaurants. If you are a coffee lover you can have a good coffee and it will cost 350 to 500 rupees. And also cakes and some bakery items are available there and it will cost some extra. It all depends on how much you want to spend.

Usually, people will take one day’s rest at Dingboche to acclimate. If you do that it will add one more day to this itinerary. 

Nepali trekkers are increasing each year, in popular travel destinations, especially during vacation time. Such as Dashain and Tihar Festival, New Year, and other holiday periods they trek to Everest and other trekking regions. But they don’t have a proper plan for that trek so here is the breakdown of the Everest Base Camp Trek costs for Nepali trekkers. These are the main factors that determine the cost to do Everest Base Camp Trek for Nepali trekkers. Luckily Nepali trekkers do not need to pay a huge permit fee to trek in the Everest region.
