Dhulikhel – An ancient city nearby Kathmandu Valley

Dhulikhel is an ancient city 30KM the eastern direction of the Kathmandu Valley. This hilltop village historically belongs to the Lichhivi period. The name Dhulikhel came from Nepal Vasa Dhaokhyo; Nepal vasa means Newari Language. Dhuli / Dhao means Yogurt and Khela or Khyo means field in Nepal vasa. This ancient town used to be a border of Nepal Mandal during ancient Nepal.

Dhulikhel is one of the popular weekend gateway destinations nearby Kathmandu Valley after Nagarkot.
