A majestic Journey to Manakamana Temple

We planned to make a journey to Manakamana 3 months ago and waiting for the right time. Finally, that right time was in our hands so that we decided to travel to Manakamana on the occasion of Magne Sankranti. As a trekking and tour organizer, I organized the transportation and bought an online ticket for the cable car. Everyone was happy to go there and they are all ready to go.

Woke up very early in the morning because the car was booked for 4 am to drive from Kathmandu. As the planned car was there on time and we were ready on time too. Our drive commenced around 4:10 am, it was early and very cold outside. The driver was very nice that he turned on the AC and everyone in the car felt nice and warm.

Slowly we crossed the Thankot check post, Naubise and we stopped in Malekhu for PP and to be fresh for while. After some time in Malekhu, we continue our journey to Manakamana. It took around 4 hours to reach Kurintar, Kurintar is the place from where we need to take Cable Car. The driver parked the car and he also joined us to go to Manakamana.

I have been to the place several times but this time I am with my daughter. So this trip was something special for me because I am traveling with my lovely family. When we reached Manakamana there was already a long queue of people. At first, we stayed in line but we got lucky and were able to go to the temple sooner.

We worshiped in the Temple and ate something after that. That day’s weather was perfect so we enjoyed the panoramic views of snowy mountain peaks. Similarly, we enjoyed the ride on the cable car because of the perfect weather and the landscape views. And the atmosphere of the Manakamana Temple was a pure pilgrim because people are very patient. And everyone was carrying flowers and other praying materials.

After spending some time in the Manakamana area we backed to Kurintar. Again get in the car and drive back to Kathmandu. While we drive to Kathmandu we stocked in a big traffic Jam because there was an accident. We stocked around 4 hours in Jam and finally, we backed in Kathmandu. Overall our journey to Manakamana was fantastic and we all enjoyed it except for that boring traffic jam.

Why Manakamana Temple is very popular.

Everyone believes that this temple is the place where we wished something that will be fulfilled. Mana means our soul and Kamana means wishes so the meaning of Manakamana is wishes of our soul. So that people believe that the goddess Bhagawati has the power to grand our wishes because Bhagawati is the core god of this temple.

Another thing about the popularity of this temple is the cable cars. This cable car is the first cable car in Nepal. Orange of this area is also very popular in Kathmandu and Pokhara. People they sell the name of the Manakamana when they sell Orange. The seller used to say that this orange is came from Manakamana or this orange is Manakamana’s orange. Also naturally this place is very attractive because located in the middle of Kathmandu and Pokhara. And on the top of the hill with the vistas of the majestic mountains.
