As a trekking guide, I have been on these trekking trails multiple times by leading groups. Sometimes I made solo trips as well because I love to explore new things and love to be in the mountain and nature. Among all those treks where I have been, my personal favorites are Upper Mustang and Dolpa Trek.

I love these trekking areas because these treks are completely different from the Everest, Annapurna, and Langtang treks. But I am sure if you are a trekking lover then your favorite treks in Nepal might be different. And here is the list of the best treks in Nepal according to popularity, length, cost, and diversity.

And the capital of this forbidden kingdom was in the walled city of Lomanthang. And surprisingly, still, there is a king and he used to be the supreme personality of the region.

Trekking to the upper mustang was only open in 1992 for the outsider, just two years after I was born (hahaha). Since then, there each year thousands of trekkers trek to explore this beautiful land. But still, the upper mustang is restricted and requires a special permit, and the permit costs USD 500 per person for 10 days. For more than ten days need to pay per day an extra USD 50 and to obtain a permit needs a minimum of two people.

Manaslu Trek (Larke Pass Trek)

Manaslu Trek is another great trek in Nepal and it is very famous among adventure lovers. The classic Manaslu Circuit Trek is very prominent for its natural and cultural beauty of the region. The reason for that is every year several trekkers visit Manaslu Conservation Area as the Manaslu Trek and Tsum Valley Trek. Even some pedestrians combine these treks in one time as the longer version of the Manaslu Trek.

This trek is also one of the restricted treks and it requires a special permit and a government-trained license-holder trekking guide. Like Everest and Annapurna region treks, this trek also offers the outstanding vista of the giant Mt. Manaslu and other stunning mountain peaks. However, this trek is considered the less touristic trekking trail and off the beaten track. Exploring this remote locality will give you the reality of the mountain lifestyle.

Panoramic mountain sceneries, mixed culture, Himalayan Buddhism, and mixed traditions are part of the full package of this trek. Walking in the shade of the Annapurna Massive and just below the world’s highest Tilicho Lake is the characteristic of this trek.

Nowadays there is a motor road to Manang and Khangsar from Besisahar. For this reason that the classic Annapurna Circuit Trek Itinerary almost vanishes. Langtang valley trek is also one of the world’s class treks in Nepal. Comparatively shorter than Everest base camp and Annapurna Circuit Trek but the attraction of this trek is similar to other treks. As the Upper Mustang, this region also reflects the sameness of Tibetan culture in Nepal. Although the people of the Langtang are Nepalese.

Langtang valley trek is inside the Langtang National Park and to do a trek to Langtang requires an entry permit from the National Park. This trek is rich in natural beauty, cultural diversity, and the variousness of flora and fauna. These elements make Langtang Trek one of the best treks in Nepal. And because of the popularity of this amazing trek, each year thousands of international trekkers trek there.

This trek is the third-best trek in Nepal after Annapurna Base Camp and Everest Base Camp. Even Langtang Trek is widely known as the short but beautiful trek nearby the capital city of Kathmandu. Also, this trek can combine with Tamang Heritage Trail Trek and Gosainkunda and Helambu Trek.

There are only two massive village-like Nar Village and Phu Village, these villages are unique and have their own identities.

And this trek is also one of the restricted region treks; fewer touristic because of the requirements of the special permit and a trekking guide. If you are looking for a less tourist but startling trekking trail then Nar Phu Trek is one of the best treks in Nepal. Normally trekkers need to purchase 7 days trekking permit and which is more than enough to explore the whole region.

Nar Phu Trek is not only a natural and cultural trek, but it’s also an adventurous trek. Because trekkers have to pass the Kangla Pass 5320m above sea level. And the trails are extremely dangerous in some parts and if there is snow then it’s difficult to pass the Kangla Pass.
