Here I am writing this post about myself. I was born and raised in a village called Thulo Parsel. Thulo Parsel is a small village near the Kathmandu valley. It was nearby but not that much influenced by the city’s lifestyle when I stayed there. I used to work in the farmland to help my parents and study in the government school. After I completed the great 10 in Thulo Parsel, I came to Kathmandu for further study and work.
Life in Kathmandu was not that easy, so I followed the footprints of my father and brother, who used to work in Trekking as a porter, guide, and sometimes cook. So that I started to work in the tourism industry as a porter. My first trek was the Manaslu Circuit Trek, which was the first and most adventurous mountain trip in my life.
I am also a tourist guide in the English Language. I guide tourists to all the tourist destinations of Nepal. Such as the Bouddhanat stupa, the Swyambhunath stupa, the Pashupatinath stupa, the Kathmandu Durbar Square, Patan Durbar Square, Bhaktapur Durbar Square, Chanjunaran around the Kathmandu valley. Also, I guide tourists outside Kathmandu Valley, Pokhara, Chitwan, Lumbini, and many other areas of Nepal.
As a trekking guide, I have been in the Everest region, Annapurna region, Langtang region, Manaslu region, and Mustang region. All these trekking trails are so beautiful. I started as a guide in a Dutch company as an assistant guide on a camping trek. And then I become the full guide. Guiding the people in the Himalayas of Nepal is very fun for me. I always enjoy my time in the Himalayas with those people who go with me.
After the earthquake on the 15th of April 2015. I am working in a foundation called Helping Thulo Parsel. I am working with that foundation as country manager for now. That foundation is building earthquake-proof houses in the Kaverpalanchok district of Nepal. We have built 55 houses in that area for the poor families who are not able to build a house, which was damaged by an earthquake.
As a trekking and tour guide, I always travel to new places and give information to tourists from all over the world. And now I started blogging because I want to share and show this beautiful country to other people who cannot physically travel to Nepal to see those places. And also, I started my own YouTube channel called Travel with Raby for the purpose of video blogging.
