Location of the Trek,
Langtang Valley is located north of Kathmandu close to the border of Tibet China at the Rasuwa district. The altitudes of this Trek vary from 1400 meters in Syaprubesi to 4400 meters lower in Kyangin Ri. However, the last sleeping destination of the Trek is Kyangun Gumba 3800 meters.
The best time to Trek.
Spring Season (March- May) and Autumn Season (September – November) are considered as the best trekking seasons in Nepal. During these seasons usually clear skies and moderate temperatures in the Langtang area.
The other two seasons winter (December to February) and monsoon (June to August) considered as the not-best seasons in Nepal for trekking. During winter can be cold and snowy trails make trekking more difficult and challenging, especially in higher places.
Monsoon Season can be heavy rainfall and cloudy skies which can lead to muddy trails, danger of landslides, and problems of leeches during the Trek. So the Monsoon season is not recommended for any trekkers who wish to do trekking in these months.
Langtang Valley Trek Itinerary Overview
Day 1: Kathmandu to Syaprubesi
Drive from Kathmandu to Syaprubesi (6 to 7 hours) and Overnight at a Guest House.
Day 2: Syaprubesi to Lama Hotel
Trek on the bank of the Langtang River through dense forests, and typical mountain lodges, and cross several suspension bridges. Lama Hotel is a small settlement where you will stay overnight at the elevation of 2450 meters above sea level.
Day 3: Lama Hotel to Langtang Village
Trekking further up the Langtang Valley, passing through. Small mountain villages and get closer to the Langtang Lirung. Overnight stay in Langtang Village 3450 meters.
Day 4: Langtang Village to Kyangin Gompa
The walking trails go up to Kyangin Gompa (3800 meters) where you can explore the mountain village, monastery, stupas, and cheese factory and enjoy the panoramic view of the mountains. You can find a Cheese factory to small bakery where you can taste yummy cheese to tasty bakery items.
Day 5: Explore the Kyangin Gumpa and more.
Kyangin Gompa is the place from where you can explore various places like Kyangin Ri, Tserikuri, Ganjala Base Camp, Yela Peak Base Camp, and Langsisha Kharka. Usually, trekkers hike up to Kyangin Ri or Tserikuri because these are the best places to enjoy the panoramic views of the snowy peaks.
Day 6: Trek down to Lama Hotel.
Follow the same way down to Lama Hotel
Day 7: Trek down to Syaprubesi
Again follow the same way down to Syaprubesi which ascend up to Kyangin Gompa.
Day 8: Drive back to Kathmandu.
Today is the day to return to Kathmandu, which will take around 5 to 6 hours.

Langtang Trek is a Tea House Trek where you can get tea houses and lodges along the way. Which offers basic amenities for the trek. Most of the lodges have private rooms with shared toilets, even at the Langtang and Kyangin there are attached bathrooms as well.
