Khumai Danda Trek is a trekking trail with a lot of potential for new demanding trekking routes in Nepal. Already some hikers hiked to these beautiful places and got popular among Nepali travelers. Because of the appealing mountain views especially the view of Mt. Machhapuchhere. Typical villages and lifestyle of the local people. Customizing the Itinerary all depends on the holiday length and budget you are looking to spend. It means this trek can start and end from various places. Even this trek can do in just three days. If you want to accomplish it in 3 days the itinerary will be like this.

Day 1 Drive to Hemje and then trek to Hille Kharka via Ghanchok
Day 2 Hille Kharka to Khumai Danda
Day 3 Early Moring hike to the highest point and trek Ghanchowk and drive back to Pokhara

Khumai Danda

Khumai Danda is a hill located in the Annapurna Himalayan Region of Nepal. It is also the highest point of the Kumai Danda Trek, a rising short trek that offers stunning views of the Himalayan range, lush forests, and traditional villages.

Khumai Danda stands at an elevation of 3,700 meters above sea level and offers panoramic views of the Mt. Annapurna and Mt. Dhaulagiri mountain ranges. The best mountain view during this trek will be Mt. Machhapuchhare. It is a popular trekking destination for trekkers who want to experience the beauty of the Annapurna region without undertaking a more challenging and lengthy trek.

Requires Permits

This trek is also inside the Annapurna Conservation Area like Annapurna Base Camp Trek, Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek, Annapurna Circuit Trek, Mardi Himal Trek, and many more. So that it requires the Annapurna Conservation Area entry permit which costs 30$ for foreigners and is free for Nepali. Also, need a TIMS Card (Trekking Information Management System) which costs 20$ for foreigners and is free for Nepali.

How and when to get Khumai Danda.

It all depends on where you live, your first destination will be Pokhara. From Pokhara need to drive to Mardi Pul or Hemja and driving will take some time before embarking on the hike.

Nepal has four trekking seasons – Spring, Autumn, Summer, and Winter. This trek can be done in all seasons. However, the best time is spring, and autumn because during this time weather and temperature are suitable for hikes. Also, this trek can be done during the winter season, although a bit cold but the views will be fascinating. 

On the other hand, during summer will be rainy and wet so not good to hike and leeches will be irritating.
