Walk from Kagbeni to Jomsom
A short walk from Muktinath to Kagbeni today again another short day to walk from Kagbeni to Jomsom. Today was a short day so we planned to eat breakfast and walk a little late. As planned we ate breakfast at 8:30 am and started to walk at 9:30 am.
When we started to walk there was nice warm sun and a beautiful view of the Nilgiri mountain and the Kali Gandaki river valley. A bit of greenery place Kagbeni left after half an hour of walk and reached Yakle Bhatti. In Yakle Bhatti there is a couple of hotels and restaurants and those hotel and restaurants offer Yammy food, hot tea, and cold drinks.
Most of the time we need to walk on the road so that we followed the road. I found the road expansion going there and that kind of road is completely unnecessary in the Himalayan area. And the dust is another disgusting and annoying thing while walking from Kagbeni to Jomsom. Naturally, this valley is windy, and while we are stepping the wind was getting strong and strong.
Walking in the wind and dust was not fun and the horn of the bikes, jeeps, buses, and trucks made the walk on that road unpleasant. However, after two and half hours of walking, we arrived at Jomsom. At first, we registered our permit at the Annapurna Conservation Office and then checked in at the Hotel. Today was our second last day in the Annapurna trekking.
We spent the rest of the day wandering around the Jomsom village. We test the Mustang’s Apple and brandy and of course the Apple pie. Overall we had a very wonderful day except for the walk in the dust and the horns of the vehicles. And we planned to go to Marpha the next day and back to Jomsom.
